I remember reading in John 16, Jesus was comforting His disciples because he knew He was about to leave the earth to be joined back with His Father in heaven. I couldn't help but feel sad for them. I personally hate break ups, good byes or farewells. I was also sad even as I read, that He truly had to go.
Jesus really comforted them. He actually said it was for their good that He was going (v7). But how could that be good I'm sure they must have asked themselves. He said He was sending the Advocate. That the Holy Spirit will prove the world wrong about sin and righteousness and judgement. That the Spirit will guide us through all truths and so much more.
I know Jesus has sent the Advocate to us. I want to walk with Him (the Holy Spirit). Talk with Him. Ask Him questions be with Him. Have a close relationship with Him like the kind Jesus had with His disciples. I know He is right here. All I want is to be more aware and conscious of the advantage already given to me freely by my Lord Jesus Christ. I need a comforter, advocate, teacher, helper, standby. I truly do....
PRAYER
Sweet Holy Spirit, I know you are real and just waiting for me to make the call. Thank you so much. Please sweet Spirit of the most High God help me to yield more to you so that you can find full expression in me. Strengthen me for times when I am weak. Remember oh Dear Lord you said that your eyes range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to You. (2Chronicles16v9).
Please mould me and make me to be what you want me to be use my life to inspire many in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
